A quarter inch around
And covered with rust
Stuck in a fence post
Doing its job like it must
Next time you see one
Don't hurry on by
Stop, introduce yourself
Look 'em straight in the eye
If you get it to talk
You are very lucky...but
Others will wonder
Which one is the nut
